About this tool

What this tool does

Reads the filled-in form fields (text, checkbox, dropdown, radio group) of a PDF file and writes them as an XFDF file — the open Adobe standard for form field data.

How it works

Upload the PDF, download the XFDF file — no settings needed, your file never leaves your device.

Privacy

This operation runs directly in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.

Limitations

If the PDF has no form fields, no XFDF file can be produced — you get a clear error message instead of an empty file. Only field values are exported, not the PDF layout itself.

FAQ

XFDF (XML Forms Data Format) is Adobe's open standard for storing a PDF form's entered values separately from the document. A PDF viewer can re-apply an XFDF file back onto the same form.

Your PDF file has no fillable form fields. To create a fillable form, use our form editor tool.
